Places to eat in Glasgow (Cont...)

Tony Macaroni

Soar Intu Braehead, 2 King's Inch Rd, Renfrew PA4 8XQ (Braehead Shopping Centre)

133 West George Street, Glasgow, Lanarkshire G2 2HG (City Centre)

4 Byres Road, Glasgow G11 5JY (West End)

They have two restaurants in Glasgow and another one at Braehead Shopping Centre in Renfrew; addresses for all three have been included above. Having been to all three I can say that they are all consistently good and I would recommend any of the three

The Braehead one is the easiest by car as it is located at Xscape next to Braehead shopping centre and has free parking for all visitors.

The West George St branch can be easily reached by public transport to Queen Street or Central Station, Glasgow Subway or any buses going through the city centre. There is some on street parking available in the area also but this must be paid for Monday to Saturday before 6pm.

The Byres Road one can also be easily reached by the Glasgow Subway to Kelvinhall (closest) or to Hillhead. There is also some on street parking available around the area but it can be costly and very busy.

They do a wide selection of Italian food such as pizzas, pastas and meat dishes. I have never had a bad meal at any of the restaurants and service is usually quite good.

They have a special menu which operates between Monday and Friday 12pm till 6.30pm. From this menu prices start from £4.95 for one course and then it is a couple of extra pounds to add each additional course (up to standard three courses) so this menu is a bargain. You can get popular choices like a margarita pizza (with up to two toppings), lasagne, chicken, soup, ice cream etc.

Mozzarella sticks, Stuffed Mushrooms,
Penne Contandina and pizzas. Taken at the
Glasgow West George Street Restaurant,
February 2016.

The regular menu has just about everything in it. A wide selection of starters, loads of choices of mains, a wide range of desserts and then the drinks selection.

Can usually get a table quite easily but I would always recommend booking in advance when possible to avoid any waiting. Booking can be done online via the website address supplied below.

Bookings can also be taken by phone. All of the restaurants they operate are shown on the website along with their locations, phone numbers and the menus available.
They also provide crayons and colouring in material to help distract the little ones which can be quite useful.

Tony Macaroni is a favourite of mine. I have had the exact same meal at all three restaurants and it was perfect each time. Consist and delicious every time so I know exactly what to expect when I visit a Tony Macaroni restaurant. I highly recommend a visit to any of their restaurants.

Places to eat in Glasgow

Cosmo Buffet

Located on the Ground Floor of Silverburn Shopping Centre, Barrhead Rd, Glasgow, G53 6QR

Located at Silverburn Shopping Centre Cosmos is the only way to go if after a hard day shopping you need to refuel.

It can be easily reached by public transport from various locations throughout Glasgow (http://www.travelinescotland.com/welcome.do) or by car using the postcode G53 6EW (this postcode is different than the one supplied above as this will direct you to the closest car park for Silverburn Centre).

The food is just absolutely delicious.
There is a huge selection to choose from with the various sections such as Italian, carvery, desserts and world of Asia. At the live cooking stations special order items can be requested such as various meets and fish, noodles etc. with a variety of sauces and flavourings to suite everyone. Last time I had salmon and it was delicious.

There is varied selection of beers, cocktails, spirits etc. as you would normally expect but the soft drinks are an absolute bargain. For £2.85 you can get unlimited refills and options include Irn-Bru, Pepsi and Vimto. I’ve been to other buffets before were the drinks haven’t been refillable or even when they haven’t tasted nice cause the company have clearly bought  in very cheap brands. For Cosmos this is not the case and they are obviously more quality orientated.
Cosmos is located at the far end of the centre, next to TGI Fridays and Cineworld Cinema. The door to access the restaurant is located just outside the centre doors.
Cosmos can be very, very busy so I would advise always trying to book ahead in advance, I have included their website address below were tables can be booked.

They also have a Facebook page which you can check out from the link below, the Facebook page provides various photos, useful information and fantastic deals e.g. currently offering anyone born on February 29th a free meal with proof of DOB, Scottish students get 10% etc.
Also if you wish to contact them you can send them a personal message via Facebook and they will generally get back to you quite quickly.

Prices depend on the day visited and the time and so for ease I have included a table below clearly stating their current prices, opening times and days they apply.
